Denver – Feels smaller than it is…

One of the most fascinating things about Denver is the reaction that people have when they are contemplating moving here. Their first thought is that they are moving to a BIG city. And in some sense of the word, that is true… But the reality is that often times Denver feels much smaller than it actually is.

It is not an optical illusion or a mind trick that is played on you when you arrive. I think if I had to guess it is simply that Denver is made up of many substantive neighborhoods, each of which is a great place to live on its own. Granted, if you go downtown, it is going to have the fast paced hustle and bustle of a happening town. But once you are outside of that environment, the pace slows, the neighborhoods and the lifestyle quickly reach a pace that says small town and homey.

With the airport located a fair distance from the city and plenty of green area all around, it is easy to view Denver as a big city that has a small town feel.
